General principles
As work practices evolve, as physical and digital environments increasingly intertwine, and as environmental challenges and new employee expectations emerge, this research proposes a new way of thinking about workplaces as relational, adaptable and evolving environments.
Developed by Arkhenspaces for VINCI Facilities, this white paper explores new relationships between spaces, services, individuals and digital tools in order to imagine more adaptive, personalised and relational work environments.
It lays the foundations for a genuine art of working together, based on the quality of relationships, organisational agility and a more meaningful use of available resources.
From the workstation to the work ecosystem
As we previously did for housing in Infinity Home, this research questions workplaces as a whole.
The challenge is no longer simply to design offices, but to imagine ecosystems capable of connecting physical spaces, digital tools, services, mobility and uses.
Work environments become more open, more flexible and better adapted to the diversity of individual and collective needs.
The conductor of spaces, services and relationships
At the heart of this research emerges the figure of the conductor of serviced spaces.
Supported by a digital infrastructure, this new role coordinates spaces, resources and services in real time according to users’ needs, aspirations and possibilities.
This approach helps organisations become more responsive, more efficient and more human while encouraging a stronger sense of appropriation and belonging.
Fluidifying the space-times of work
The research aims to diversify and fluidify the space-times of work by taking into account the singularity of individuals, organisations and situations.
It proposes a better organisation of resources, encourages synergies and allows people to choose the environments best suited to their activities.
Work is no longer associated with a single location but with a network of complementary physical and digital environments.

A foresight research project
The result of a collaboration between Arkhenspaces and VINCI Facilities, this white paper explores possible futures for work environments.
More than a simple assessment, it proposes both a method and a vision to help organisations improve the attractiveness, resilience and quality of their workplaces at every scale — from collaborative spaces and headquarters to national and international real-estate networks.
